Desperately Seeking a Jacket

  • Nov. 27th, 2009 at 7:35 PM
Hi everyone!

Long time lurker, first time poster here. I was wondering if anyone could help me out in my search for this jacket. My mom bought me one this morning, but got the wrong size and none of the Old Navy stores near me have any in stock, it is completely out of stock online, and it doesn't seem very promising that they will replenish them within the stores :( I am looking for a size XL in Navy Blue. If anyone could help I would be most grateful! :)

Linds let me model her new weenie tee!!! Which happened to perfectly match this felted yellow hair bow I am selling. I also got to show the world my Bobart the Weinerdog purse!!

Here's the quick story on Bobart:

My friend Margaret took me to the mall in highschool or college and asked me to pick something out for my birthday present. I picked this adorable weinerdog purse. We were walking around and trying to give a good name to this purse, and I said BALLPARK, like Ballpark Franks. Margaret thought I had said BOBART, and so it was.

To pick up your own awesome weenie tee, check out Sick for Cute which is having a downright insane $12 tee sale! If you want the one and only yellow felted hair bow with rainbow pom poms, hit up My Etsy Shop which still has lowered craft-fair pricing until Monday!

p.s. Check out Shrinkle's latest blog entry for TONS of photos of the Hello Kitty Fashion show. Laughter. Tears. The whole shebang!!!!!

Greeting fellow fatties!

Here's hoping that all of my fellow Americans had a Happy Turkey Day! I know I ate more than my fair share of bird yesterday & of course I had a generous slice of pie for breakfast this morning. ^_^ Your model is 5' 7" & approx 250lbs.

After sleeping in until about 10 am (yes, it was awesome!) I went to have dinner with my family in the early afternoon.

Lots more pics under the cut! )

I can't remember asking this before...

My Mom and I are headed to Nashville tomorrow, and we're wondering if there are any plus-size shopping venues we should keep our eyes open for. Thus far, The Mall at Green Hills has been a complete bust, since there's nothing really designed for a woman under 25 in the anchor stores and the smaller stores are really only for the skinnies.

At the moment, we plan to visit Opry Mills for the Lane Bryant outlet, but we think we'll be disappointed by it if it's anything like a regular Lane Bryant.

I know there was once a great boutique called Flaunt, but apparently they closed up shop on March 31st. If there's anywhere else like that in the city or the suburbs...information would be wonderful.

Other than that, is an Old Navy Outlet any different size-wise than a regular Old Navy? If they have plus sizes in there, I will give it a shot.

Thank you!

BBW-friendly cartoonist wanted - will pay!

Hello all...

I'm looking to get a cartoon done for use as a digital logo. Will pay. The logo will depict a plus-size woman, and so I'm hoping to find someone who can see BBWs as beautiful and sexy.

Email me at my username at gmail.com if you're interested.

RECEIVED

Flower broach/clip from [info]vicktakessheff - Being honest this wasn't protected well enough it arrived squashed and the broach part had been bent so the clasp wouldn't close. Luckily I managed to bend it back into place but next time a bit of bubble wrap might've help. Thank you though!

Does anyone have a good lead on knee-length denim skirts that aren't pencil skirts? A-line would be ideal, but it seems like every darn skirt I find right now is a pencil skirt. That shape simply doesn't work for me. I'm a pretty solid apple, and I carry all of my weight in my stomach. Pencil skirts look totally unflattering on me. I'd love love love to find an awesome dark denim skirt, but I think I'm coming up against the fact that the pencil skirt is en vogue right now and it's the wrong time of year to find knee-length skirts. I've exhausted my fat fashion savvy. Can anyone help out? I generally wear somewhere between a 26-28 on bottom, though it varies by brand.

Thank you Fatshionista

I don't get around these parts much anymore because I have a new job & a demanding toddler but I wanted to say THANK YOU for this community. Yesterday was "ARE YOU REALLY EATING MORE??" day aka thanksgiving with my richer, skinnier relatives. I felt bad about myself and came back here to read some posts about some awesomeness. Thanks to everyone who posts and comments and lurks. I love the fashion and I love the politics and debates.

Thank you most especially for reminding me that I am beautiful no matter what, that I being healthy does not equal being skinny and that I can't sit around and go "When I get skinny..." but rather need to just enjoy my life and delicious food and relax a little bit.

Is this incoherent? I am trying to hurry and type this before the baby wakes up (and I might not be able to answer comments for the same reason)... Anyway.. THANK YOU ALLLLLL for being so awesome here, all the time. You all rock, hard. :)

This isn't really a fashion question, but it is a fat question. I am a really large girl. I wear a 28 on top and bottom. My problem is finding towels that cover me completely. The normal sized bath towels are too small and don't go completely around. Anyone know where I can get large towels and not spend big bucks?
